Fuck the makers of this video. You don't represent the majority. Fascists.

@godanlove This new age you speak of is a humanistic utopia that NEVER works. You think that this "new age" hasn't been attempted before? Rome, France, Russia, Greece, and dozens of other empires and countries have tried to grasp this utopia under the veil of "understanding and diversity." So, like he said in the video: Read your history. (And by history, I don't mean the politically correct government issued history books. A good place to start is "War Between the States" by John J. Dwyer)

@godanlove Like he said in the video, read your history. Not a single country works under those premises. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for understanding another culture. But integrating diversity and understanding into our culture for nothing more than the sake of understanding? It is expensive, it usurps the original Constitution, and goes against the intentions of our Founding Fathers.

Whether or not they ever will, Americans should understand that their clear decline over the last 40 years or so is due to a systems dynamic which includes as much as anything declining personal and social values (wrapped up and sold to the public as liberal-humanist "virtues") and a broken (since its concoction) political system which is simply incapable (whoever is President) of pulling the U.S out of its historical trajectory of decline.

Our system is free, logical and straight-forward. Each party elects (at a party convention not some bizarre reality TV primary process). If that party wins the election its leader becomes the Prime Minister. In most cases that party also forms an elected majority and damn well governs. Things get done. As leader of his or her party the PM routinely faces the opposition in debate (unlike the semi-deified position of President).

Our Prime Ministers can actually deal with national problems (like the debt) and are not ham-strung by a system that places legislation in such bi-partisan hands that even if it gets by a hostile congress it is so watered-down that it is next to useless in affecting any necessary change. We also don't indulge in any sketchy system of a voting college.

The British parliamentary system (evolving for some 800 years or so) functions far better and more logically than the rather odd system The U.S has had since 1781. We are free (though we don't constantly make speeches about it) and far more stable, far less prone to corruption and violence. Most countries seek to create a stable society not a free-for all forum for capatilst excess.

America's success in those years was far more due to historical circumstances - physical (territorial expansion and industrial development of this same territory) - than it was due to its political system. The American nationalist myth is that they somehow invented democracy. This is certainly known to be false to anyone raised in a nation of the British Commonwealth.
